👋🏼 Hi! I'm Orlando, a Senior & Staff Product Designer with 17 years of experience serving people through better software.
I started my career designing and building WordPress sites in 2009. My love for the web and the people who use it has only grown from there.
Throughout my career I have progressed as my skills evolved. I grew from Consultant to Senior Consultant to Managing Consultant and Design Team Lead. I've designed for the financial, insurance, public, startup, and small business sectors. My goal has always been to create solutions that make a real difference in people's lives and create impact. I led design on a Financial Platform that scaled from 100,000 to 3 million registered users. On a debt assessment tool, the features I designed lifted enrollment rates by 550%.
Since 2022 I've led designers by mentoring a remote team, building design systems that keep everyone moving in the same direction, and treating accessibility as part of the work rather than a box to check at the end. I led my team's move to prototyping with Claude through Figma's MCP, and I build with it myself.
I'm based in Richmond, Virginia, and I speak English and Spanish.
